Open a Terminal and create a directory (if needed) `.ssh` in your home directory. Create a config file inside your .ssh directory and add the following **(only for MAC/Linux users)**
`vi ~/.ssh/config`
Add the following
````
Host resshark
Compression yes
CompressionLevel 9
ForwardX11 yes
Hostname 145.88.65.151
User YourResearchUsername
ProxyCommand ssh -q -X -C YourResearchUsername@145.88.35.10 nc %h %p
````
**Make sure that the permissions are set correctly for your .ssh directory.**
Set the read, write, execute permission for the user for the .ssh directory:
`chmod 700 ~/.ssh`
Set the read, write permission for the user on all the files in your .ssh directory.
`chmod 600 ~/.ssh/*`
**Now you can connect directly from home to the new shark using the research SSH server as a proxy.**
To connect type:
`ssh resshark`
Type twice your password. |
