What to do with Git (GitLab/GitHub)?

What is the first practical where they need some code? When do they first have to submit some code?

Should we have an explanation of:

1. Clone the practical repository
2. Do the practical
3. Commit changes
4. Send pull request

And for both GitLab and GitHub? Where do we document this?

Letting the participants use GitHub is out of our scope + another prerequisite for this course (creating an GitHub account)

I removed the GitHub mirror, since the only reason for it was that nbviewer could not access the notebooks on GitLab. But this has since been fixed.

I will create a GitLab account for all non-LUMC email addresses on the participant list.

So the first lesson where they need material from the assignments repository (and where they could potentially push their soutions for us to review) is the More Python lesson.

I propose we create a short handout explaining what they have to do for this and give it during lesson 2.

I made the handout and at least one student managed to submit a pull request for his solution (but he also did the Git course).

However, some other student asked why it must be so complex. I tend to agree. Perhaps we should not mix Git instructions in this course and just give some download location. We miss out on the pull request way of review then.

Another option is to give a simple download location and the current Git instructions as an optional thing for interested students.
